When replacing stirrup leathers the same care should be given the repair as would be with a custom saddle. The new leathers need to be cut next to each other as a pair towards the top or back bone of the side of leather. While pre-cut replacement stirrup leathers are available, it is unknown if the replacement leathers were cut as pairs from the same side of leather.

This repair involves replacing a 2 ½" half stirrup leather ( found on cutting, reining, and barrel saddles) with a strip of latigo leather about 1" wide stitched to the stirrup leather in the middle to reinforce the holes for a vertical style Blevins buckle.
